Controller
The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the GDPR is the operator of how2ship.net, reachable at kontakt@how2ship.net. The full provider details will be added before the public launch in the legal notice.
Hosting & server log files
The website is hosted with Railway (Railway Corp., USA); the database runs on Supabase. When you open the site, the hosting provider processes technically necessary server log data (including IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and device type) in order to deliver the page and keep operations secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in stable, secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Any transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses / EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
Click statistics
When you click an agent link, we record which agent was clicked, from which part of the site (e.g. the calculator or the homepage) and when. We collect this click data without cookies and without your IP address; on its own it does not allow any conclusion about you as a person. The purpose is to improve our service and to make referrals traceable towards our partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies and local storage
The public part of the website sets no tracking or marketing cookies. If you pick a language in the footer, we store that choice in a functional cookie (ac_lang) — that is the only way the page can already be delivered in the right language on your next visit. Your browser's local storage additionally remembers the channel you arrived through. Neither contains personal data. Technically necessary storage for signing in applies solely to the internal admin area.
Referral & external links
how2ship.net links to external providers (the listed agents and the product finder doppel.fit). When you follow such a link you leave our site; the respective operators are responsible for data processing there. If you sign up through a referral link, we may receive a benefit — at no extra cost to you.
Your rights
